The AGRC at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) is based in the College of Medicine. The UCI AGRC Core Program entails both an administrative and advisory function having three major aims: Developing, coordinating, and evaluating geriatrics/gerontology education and research. Areas served within the campus system include the College of Medicine and the UCI Medical Center, an off-campus location. Individuals served within the campus system are undergraduate students, graduate students, residents, fellows, faculty, staff, professionals in fields of health care, business management, the legal system, law enforcement, and the local community. The UCI AGRC contributes faculty and staff support to many activities in geriatrics/gerontology and facilitation. Importantly without UCI AGRC support, these activities would not take place.
