Presbyterian Older Adult Ministry

Regions:
Organization Type:

As the number of older adults increases in our congregations, the church is standing at a crossroads in older adult ministry. The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) plans to be a pioneer in this new era of the graying church in a graying society.

We must lead our members in a new and different way of viewing their personal lives, families, life in our congregations, and the new issues surrounding dying. Like never before in our history, older adults possess the capacity to impart wisdom, expertise and knowledge in the way we perceive and do church. All of us will lose if we do not harness the rich resources older adults offer in time, talent and treasure in mission, ministry and outreach.

In this vein, the Office of Older Adult Ministries, Mission Program and Funding is initiating a bold new venture that will expand older adult ministry at every level of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
