Regions:
Organization Type:

Free information on any of over 4,500 no-fee self-help support group meetings throughout NJ for a wide variety of issues affecting many older adults. These community support groups are more appropriately called 'mutual help' groups because their members, who share a common experience or adversity, help one another deal with a specific illness, disability, addiction, bereavement situation, parenting problem, caregiver concern, abuse, victim, divorce, or other stressful life situation. Just call 1-800-367-6274, more easily remembered as 1-800-FOR-M.A.S.H. (Mutual Aid Self-Help), good from anywhere within NJ. The Clearinghouse also provides free consultation services to anyone interested in joining with others to start a needed new self-help group in their NJ community.
