National Hispanic Council on Aging

Regions:
Organization Type:

The National Hispanic Council on Aging (NHCOA) was established in 1973 as an advocate organization with the primary purpose of improving Hispanic elderly utilization of community services. Since its inception, the NHCOA has focused on the importance and functions of the family to assist the elderly in every aspect of living and to provide needed care in old age.

The NHCOA addresses issues of health disparities, economic security, abuse and victimization of the elderly and their families and builds affordable housing for the elderly. We participate in coalitions, task forces, conferences, workshops, study groups and other activities that advocate for a particular issue within the scope of our mission.
