Miami Area Geriatric Education Center

Enhancing the geriatric knowledge and skills of health professionals by expanding and developing educational programs and activities in geriatrics.

The Miami Area Geriatric Education Center is a consortium of educators from the University of Miami, the Miami Department of Veterans Affairs Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinical Center, Barry University, Florida International University, and Nova Southeastern University. The Miami-Dade Area Health Education Center (AHEC) also contributes to the planning and development of educational programming. MAGEC was established to provide a coordinated interdisciplinary program of geriatric education for all health-care professionals serving the elderly in South Florida.
